Rover went the Rong Wei

roe wei Rover went the Rong WeiBack in 2004, MG Rover finally went bankrupt. Rovers bankruptcy had been on the cards for years, a far cry from its golden days in the 60’s and 70’s when Rover was a brand that many British people were proud of. Rover was sold to a host of companies in its time. The glory days are long gone, Rover became insolvent and torn apart like corpse between two Chinese vultures. The intellectual property was snapped up at a bargain price by SAIC – (Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation) SAIC bought the technology, rights to produce Rover cars, but they didnt buy the Rover brand name! The other Chinese vulture, Nanjing Automobile Group gobbled up the rest of Rover for a bargain £53 million pounds. Yesterday in Shanghai, SAIC released the newly named, new designed Rover 750. It is to be known as the Rong Wei 750! It looks very British like the Rolls Royce, or a Bently from the front end, the rear looks okay, and the interior is really nice! It will cost 230,000rmb to 320,000rmb (£15,000 to £21,000) here in China once it’s released, about the average price of a family sized saloon. As SAIC didnt purchase the rights to the Rover brand, they didnt get the Rover logo, instead they have made their own, what do you think?
