Ford car sales double in China – Ford Mondeos and Focus’ seem to be the car to have if you’re an upper middle class white collar Chinese . We’re not surprised at all by this news – but when will Ford bring out the estate/station wagons here? When Ford, when?

GM car sales going through the roof with Ford – but sliding into the red in the US. Why do the Chinese love GM brands, especially Buicks when my American friends and colleagues tell me that Buicks are nothing special back home in the US? Any input from readers on this?

A New Jersey company will be the first to sell Chinese made cars in the USA. I wonder what they will import first, and will it go the way of Bricklin’s Yugo?

AND THE BIG NEWS:

Chery will make one million cars by 2010. Thats right, one million cars! Not bad for a car maker that only sold 2,000 cars in the year 2000! Chery’s growth is phenomenal and will no doubt be studied by MBA students for years to come.
