Chinese car website, autohome.com.cn is reporting that the Chery A1, pictured below, sometimes known as the Chery Kimino in export markets could be the first Dodge badged super mini car to reach European and US shores. Dont worry if you think its too plain, Chery also make a sports model Chery made the A1 especially for export markets to avoid any legal issues with exporting the QQ. The A1 and the QQ3 look virtually the same, except for the front lights. The Chery QQ was allegedly copied part for part from the Chevrolet Spark/Daewoo Matiz. Rumor has it, that the parts are interchangeable between the two cars. Anyway: the A1 looks great, what do Dodge fans think?

Hi Ash, the A1 (S12) is bigger than the QQ3 (S11): wheelbase 2390/2340; length 3700/3550; width 1578/1495; height 1527/1485. The platform is the same, but the A1 wheelbase is a bit longer. You can’t say it is a QQ with another front end. It is a totally new design, done by Bertone. The parts between the QQ and the A1 are at least not interchangeable.
Erik - didnt say they were the same, just noted that they looked similar, obviously their dimensions are different.
The interior of the A12 is much nicer than the QQ of course.
Ill reply to your emails tomorrow - you mentioned some interesting stuff but Im all beat up from traveling all day.
Mola.
Mola?
GM and Chery used the same Korean design company. That is why they both look the same.
What the article in fact says is that parts from the QQ and the Matiz are interchangable: “The Chery QQ was allegedly copied part for part from the Chevrolet Spark/Daewoo Matiz. Rumor has it, that the parts are interchangeable between the two cars.”
I think its a fiat idea. the outside shape looks very similar and on the Chery website it says it has “italian style”. . .Kinda of topic but thought i might say
