Geely Changing Strategies

Geely has been making cheap low cost cars for use within China, and for export markets for the past few years, their growth has followed the same path as Chery for quite some time now, practically none of their models cost more than 100,000rmb except for one of their higher specifcation Beauty Leopard models. Some of Geelys models are as cheap as $5000USD.
Geely plans by making higher spec cars by 2010 to tap into Chinas more affluent customer base. According to Li Shufu, the chairman of Geelys parent company Geely plans to potentially make 3.0 liter models, with a price tag of between 200,000 and 300,000rmb. We wait with baited breath as to what Geely could produce, if the King Kong is anything to go by, Geely might actually be able to knock out something pretty decent.
