Several Chinese car sites are reporting that Chery will be producing up to 6 cars for Dodges plans to create a range of small economical cars. We already know about the Chery A1 being rebadged for Dodge, but what are the other 5? China Car Times will keep you updated!
In other Chery news, the V5 goes on the market today with a starting price of 100,980rmb to 150,980rmb.

I sure hope Chrysler pays close attention to quality control ans safety. The idea of a Chinese sourced anything doesn’t sit well with me, but then I’d buy something better like a Charger anyway.
At least the A1 isn’t a hideous monstrosity or clone of another car like most Chinese cars seem to be. It actually looks fairly decent.
Also, to the best of my knowledge Chrysler has no plans to sell 6 Chery sourced cars all in on market. I would guess that the rebadge will be for markets outside of North America and Europe, and there will be a Dodge designed version for the above mentioned markets wearing unique sheetmetal and interior (perhaps like the Hornet) with Chery running gear. I would also guess that this version will feature unique suspension tuning and possible powertrains. I could see the possibility of 2 body styles, which would bring the total Chery sourced vehicles to 3, but all variations of the same car, but that’s it.
Unless there is conformation f 6, 3 is all I see.
As more information comes out, we find that Dodge/Chrysler is actually using some of Cherys platforms for its own cars.
There are six ‘cars’ from Chery for Dodge!
Chrysler itself does not have any good safety record either, apart from carrying the badge of chrysler dodge, I don’t know what Chery will learn from Chrysler anyway. Take the Chrysler voyager as an example for quality, made in 2007 , achieved 1 star in Euro Ncap. Most of the result records on Euro Ncap for Chrysler look very dismal especially for one of the America Big Three.
