Chery are setting up a joint venture with a partner from Uruguay to make bullet proof vehicles in China. Chery will provide the technology and will ultimately have a 70% stake in the business. The bullet proof cars will be based upon the Chery Eastar sedan, and be ultimately aimed at overseas markets. Chery never mentioned any sales goals or targets for the venture.
