Stretch my Chery – Stretched, bullet proof Cherys being made
We reported earlier this year that Chery wanted to make armored cars with a company from Uruagy, why we dont know, we always thought if you were rich enough to need a bulletproof car then perhaps you would buy something with a little more ‘class’ thats not to say a Chery is not classy – they are great family cars but not exactly the first choice of a millionaire. Perhaps Chery has another market in mind, Police, Government, banks etc where every dollar counts.
First up, is the bullet proof Oriental Son:

As well as making it bullet proof, they also stretched it a bit. The Chinese like their stretched cars – there are a few big name brands here in China that have made stretched versions, usually only around 20-30cm though, we can think of Audi, BMW off the top of our collective heads, even Citroen have made a stretched Xsara!

More stretched kids:

As well as making a stretched Oriental Son, Chery have come up with a stretched Chery V5 – the station wagon

Used by embassy staff? Can they import and use vehicles that have not received approval for the general market?
What about keeping the embassy staff safe – I don’t mean from bullets – in an accident?
bullet proof!?
I can’t believe it before some testing…
it may be bulletproof in China
but here in South Africa, criminals use AK47s
not chinese bullets !!!
I should think the bullets are made in China. Afterall the Chinese do produce a copy of the AK47.
Is that the 8/1 gun or is it 10/1?
Its named after either the military day holiday, or the national day holiday
It’s known as a Type (or Model) 56.

The PLA’s main infantry rifle is the recently issued QBZ-95. It is a replacement for the Type 81, which bears similarities to the AK-47. The PLA also utilise locally-manufactured versions of the Russian AK-47 series rifles and SKS series carbines with the Chinese Type 56 Assault Rifle
