More Roewe 450 Information

The Roewe 450 (codename W261), the model that SAIC has designed by itself to hopefully boost the Roewe brand from being a one model brand into having a stable full of well made, good looking vehicles.  According to our sources, the Roewe 450 has been  going through weather testing - hot weather testing in Australia and cold weather testing in North East China (it gets down to -30 up there!) We at China Car Times think that this new Roewe, could be on show at the Shanghai Auto Show later this month. Our sources are also telling us that this Roewe 450 will be on the market by the end of 2007 with three engine models, a 1.6l, a 1.8l and even a 1.8 turbo model.

I doubt it will be named rw450, it’s given by worldcarfans.com. SAIC’s W261 is the codename of platform, it is reported Ssangyong also will show a new car based on this platform in 2007 Shanghai auto show.

In Australia, there are Future Ford Falcons been tested on roads. Someone took a spy photo of the Roewe when in Australia and was mistaken as a 2008 Falcon on a car news site.
