Roewe ‘W2′ Concept Car

According to the Chinese auto press, this new Roewe – codenamed ‘w2′ will be shown at the Shanghai auto show later this month and then put into production in a few years, apparently this is a potential replacement model for the Roewe 750.

The W2 is said to be based around an entirely new platform, and contains no Rover genes, however, the ‘W2′ was designed in SAICs UK research and development center. Roewe seems to have plans for 5 new cars, and the W2 is one of those. If this design is anything to go by, we really cant wait to see the other four cars!

Clearly better than anything NAC MG are putting out.

At least SAIC have a vision!

IT is based on Rover, a shortened 75 platform. The suspension is by Rover designers and it is expected to rival the Ford Focus.

  4. avatar Ashley says:

The Chinese motoring press were saying that it was built on a new platform.

At the same time, it was reported that SAIC bought the rights to the Santana platform…. I hope that wasnt true.

Don’t insult this car by comparing to PROTON!
