Nanjings 1980′s Car Lives On in 2007

Nanjing Autos, owner of the ‘Soyat’ brand which just seems to comprise of the one single hatchback car – a trusty early generation Seat Ibiza, China Car Times thinks it might even be a first generation Seat Ibiza. Anyway, we digress from the topic at hand. Soyat have updated their car for 2007/8, hold onto your cap its quite a change:

Apparently there is a 1.2 and a 1.5 version of the Ibiza Soyat

Glad you showed both the 1.2 and the 1.5 versions. Now I can see the difference.

    Just kidding…….

Aren’t NAC’s efforts to make this model fly after such a poor sales record, just a little pathetic? I think the utility van version is a good niche model, but can’t see the hatchback going up against today’s competition.

From the A-pillars back, so far as I can see in these pics, it sure looks like a first-generation Ibiza.

It never ceases to amaze me the cars that turn out to be still made in China, decades after their western demise.
