The first sedan from JAC autos – What do you think?

JAC are a ‘silent’ player in China, just because you never see their vehicles, doesnt mean they arent there. Believe us when we say there are plenty of JAC vehicles on Chinese roads, especially their heavy trucks and mini bus range. JAC have a joint venture agreement with Hyundai through which they produce these mini vans, and a very cool looking older model Hyundai Sante Fei that they sell for a bargain 130,000rmb. We digress, JAC have been busy making their own sedan this year, which the Chinese are saying is the ‘Chinese Mondeo‘ What do CCT readers think?jac sedan The first sedan from JAC autos What do you think?

To China Car Times it resembles several cars – the front is Lexus like, the side Rover 620, the rear is Mercedes like. No word on pricing or specs yet, but we would imagine it would be on par with the Brilliance BS4 price wise and on paper.

JAC apparently is financially stable as businessweek.com recently placed it Number 92 among China’s top 100 companies. But can it handle the fierce sedan market competition of those domestics that have a long head start?

  2. The first sedan from JAC autos – What do I think? I think its shape is Lexus face Mercedes-Benz tail Brilliance BS4 (Zhonghua Junjie) = THIS CAR !!!

To me I though on first viewing it was an old model Mondeo, but on looking harder it looks like more than one car! Side view looks like an old model Passat with a C class Merc rear and a Mk3 Mondeo front end! The inside also looks like its been ‘lifted from another manufacturer! However that is not necessarily a bad thing as they seem to blend somehow! I would consider one if the price was right!
