Last weeks CCT poll, ‘Who will win in the battle of red Rover?‘ caused a bit of a furor – furious clicks were coming in from both camps, the pro Roewe and the pro MG groupies. CCT commenter Brum Brum blamed MG Rover Forum users for MG’s early lead ‘The surprise lead NAC has in the poll can only be due to an influx of the Moonie-esque cultists from the virulently anti-SAIC forum mg-rover.org‘  strong world domination talk came from the Nanjing MG corner ‘In China, I think Roewe may have the advantage, but in the rest of the world, Nanjing will have the advantage with the MG name recognition.

Nanjing MG got an early lead, SAIC were playing catch up to a point, and then Nanjing MG ran away with the title.  Out of the 104 people that voted, 36% went in favor of SAIC and 64% went in favor of Nanjing MG. Nanjing MG win round one, the virtual round, but who will win out on the mean streets of China? Early indications show that Roewe has the early advantage in terms of sales but can Nanjing MG make it up with their multi model, world famous brand?

Time will tell.
