Jinbei to get in on the pick-up/SUV game

It seems that earlier this year in the southern Chinese province of Fuzhou, Jinbei (the owner of Brilliance automobiles) quietly slipped into the SUV and pick up business. They plan to sell 40,000 SUV’s and pick up trucks this year, and 100,000 vehicles between the next 3 to 5 years. It seems that Jin Bei are focusing solely on the Fuzhou market for the time being, before they move elsewhere. A strange move, for a company based in Northern China.

unlike the Japanese, the Chinese manufacturers are too foucsed on the numbers of cars they sell instead of customer satifaction and after sell services
Hi Ash, the production facility is in Mianyang, Sichuan province, not in Fujian. It is joint project between Jinbei and the Wuliangye Group (liquor company) of Mianyang. The website is http://www.my-jinbei.com.
Greetings! Erik
Hi Ash and Laofan,
How about Brilliance’s City Cowboy SUV (SY6491) and Wolfman Pickup (SY1023) models? Hadn’t they been produced in the Shenyang factory? I think they are Nanhai Fudi-based bodies.
Erik,
The article I had to hand said they were being made (and sold)(only) in Fuzhou???
Shit sources I guess.
While your reading this Erik, do you know the website for Jin Bei’s range of flat trucks?
Hi! Just wanna ask about the City Cowboy car… is it a 4×4? SUV? or what? Someone selling me this but can not seem to find the specification of this car. I do not see it anywhere did they stop making this kind of car? Appreciate anyone’s reply.
Just forgot to mention am talking about the City Cowboy SUV (SY6491). Many thanks.
Try the website of Jinbei’s Mianyang subsidiary: http://www.my-jinbei.com
Yah have checked the website. Unfortunately they have only the 2009 only SY 6480 – 6481 – 6490. Theh City Cowboy SY 6491 is a 2006 model.
Appreciate the reply.
That basic long wheelbase SUV of 3025mm is also available in the Great Wall Sing (better made than Jinbei), the Changfeng Yangzi “Fine”, as well as models made by Gonow and Tianqi Meiya.
