An interesting poll

autohomepoll An interesting poll

Autohome.com.cn is one of the biggest ‘independent’ Chinese car websites in China, we say independent as there are bigger sites but they are linked into the big ‘portals’ like Sina, Tom, etc just like Yahoo Autos is part of the Yahoo network. Anyway, the reason we’re talking about Auto Home is that they have a poll running on their site right now, the poll is similar to the previous China Car Times poll ‘Who will win in the battle of red Rover?‘ (the winner of that one was MG.)

The Autohome poll is just asking ‘Which is your choice: Roewe, or MG?‘ Right now, at 12:30pm Beijing time (lunch time for us!) Roewe is running away with 63.33% of the vote to MG’s 36.67%. We’ll let you know the final results! The poll is obviously aimed at Chinese, and it will be interesting to see who will be king of the mainland. Want to take part in the poll? Its right here on the Auto Home site.

Personally, China Car Times can see Roewe kicking ass in China, but MG doing very well overseas.

Interesting. Why would Chinese consumers wish to buy a copy (Roewe) when they can buy the real thing (MG)?
Its like buying a fake Rolex and paying the full Rolex list price for it.

  2. avatar Brum Brum says:

Because they’d rather eat today’s freshly cooked chow mein than wait for yesterday’s heated-up sausage and chips?

Watch this poll turn on its head once the swivel-eyed nutjobs of mg-rover.org hear about it.

  3. avatar Bob W says:

Apart from a few changes to the woodwork inside aand a couple of changes to the back lights its no more freshly cooked than the mg. And where it has changed it looks vulgar

  4. avatar Brum Brum says:

SAIC’s changes are the ones MG Rover proposed, and would have formed the basis of the 75′s 07 model year refresh had the company survived.

I’ve got 200,00- Yuan that says had the partnership with SAIC gone ahead, Steve Childs’s mad Moonie-esque followers would have been chanting in over-moderated unison about how mavellous the 750 is as they hand him their tenners, instead of trying to hijack every test of opinion to trash it.

  5. avatar Bob W says:

I wonder why you find it necessary to sneer at people simply because they dont agree with you. I,ve noticed that supporters of NAC are invariably polite and constructive whereas several supporters of SAIC seem to be aggressive and a little rude. I wonder why this should be.

  6. avatar Bob says:

Just to note, i was the original Bob ;)

Bob_W: Brum has a valid point, some of the mg-rover folks are NAC nuts. There is one charachter, ‘mgrovernut’ who is pretty much the NAC Taliban, he’d probably eat the penuts out of the NAC chairmans shit, should he ever get the chance.

  7. avatar Brum Brum says:

Bob W, you sound like a chemically brainwashed cult victim. I’m not a supporter of either marque; I’m simply out to lampoon the noisily stupid dittoheads of mg-r.org, who seem to have had their Kool-Aid laced with crack cocaine if they genuinely think NAC-MG’s old metal is going to do better in the marketplace than SAIC’s.

Is Steve Childs holding mass marriages yet?

Roewe’s SUV for 2008(maybe a redesign based on ssangyong’s former benz platform) has already been tested on road in China recently.

  9. avatar kaka says:

CCT, if you want to know which one Chinese buyers prefer, you’d better hide the link o(∩_∩)o

  10. avatar Ashley says:

    >>>> Roewe’s SUV for 2008

Is that the picture of the white SUV with no branding on it which seems to be doing the rounds as the Roewe SUV?

If you know of any other ones, please send them to contact@chinacartimes.com

    Thanks!
