Toyota is not wasting any time digging in for the long haul in the China market. While this is the third plant of the FAW-Toyota joint venture, Toyota also has the Guangzou Camry plant and another plant of the FAW-Toyota venture is located out in Chengdu, building Land Cruiser Prados and Cruiser buses.

Toyota also has engine plants with FAW and Guangzhou Auto, in Changchun and Guangzhou respectively.

The competition may be a problem for domestic car companies but the "green car" manufacturing techniques of Toyota (and Honda) are a big plus for China.
