New Mondeo spotted on Chinese roads
The new Ford Mondeo really does have the look of a car that is far above its price range, we see the Ford Mondeo and we see a rather upmarket car, so when it is introduced in China we have no doubts that it will do rather well, especially against the Buick executive cars that are currently the flavor of the month with Chinese execs, and not forgetting the recently launched MG7 and Roewe 750. The Ford Mondeo will be made in China according to our sources towards the end of 2007 via the Chang’an – Ford joint venture.
The new Mondeo is the fourth generation of Ford Mondeos to be made, and will be based off of an entirely new platform that was made with help from Volvo. The Mondeo will have a 5 cylinder petrol engine that was also made in cooperation with Volvo.
China Car Times hopes that the 2.5 turbo model that chuns out 250bhp will make it to the roads, we have only but wet dreams for the 3.2L turbocharged model, but we’re unsure if that will ever make it to the Chinese market. Mondeo now currently has a 2.5 V6 model on the market, but will they give us the 3.2? We certainly hope so. As well as the ‘bigger engines’ we understand that Ford also have the regular 1.6, 1.8CSI engines in stock that deliver 145bhp and also a middle of the road 2.0l model.
If the new Mondeo is good enough for James Bond, its good enough for us.

price n e 1? i’d fancy the 2.5l turbo mondeo, given it has the same engine as the focus xR5.
