2007 – Battle of the Chinese coupes

19 July 2007 5 Comments

It seems 2007 will mark the year when Chinese automobile companies actually put their foot on the gas pedal and give it some welly. Several makers are bringing out their own home made coupes over the next few months these are:

MGTF

The MGTF will be reborn again in September this year. The MGTF will come with a manual box and an automatic option to appeal to the girly sorts who cant drive manual (including China Car Times ;) )

Zhonghua Brilliance Coupe

The coupe has had a bit of coverage on China Car Times of late, we like it, in fact we love it. Look out for around late August 07

BYD F8

BYD F8
Out of all of the cars launched at the Beijing Auto Show in 2006, the BYD F8 was probably the most infamous. The lights, the styling pretty much everything about it was clearly borrowed from a Mercedes CLK and the rear from something else. The F8 will be going on the market around the same time as both the MGTF and the Brilliance Coupe.
