C-NCAP the Chinese crash test authority that awards stars to each manufacturer depending on how safe, or unsafe their vehicles are much in the same way as the European NCAP, although it has to be pointed out there are minor differences between the two groups testing procedures.
In this months crash test round up we had:
Chevrolet Spark - 2 stars
Kia Cerato - 3 stars
Chang’an Ford Focus - 5 stars (!)
Honda Civic - 4 stars
FAW Besturn - 4 stars
Nissan Teana - 5 stars
It would be wise to point out that all of the above cars are made in China via their respective JV partners and are not imported vehicles. The FAW Besturn (stupid name, we think) is based off a Mazda 6 chassis/engine and was designed by an Italian design house. We will talk about this car later on China Car Times.

“FAW Besturn (stupid name, we think) is is based off a Mazda 6 chassis/engine …”
I think it isn’t. But its Chinese name is better than its English name.

This model is very good in advertising, but not 5 stars…
But I’m not serious, because the Mazda 6 is 4 stars too.
