Geely Mei Ri, now only 29,900rmb (thats 3,955.29USD)
Although the Geely Mei Ri is not the cheapest car on the market in China, it gets pretty damned close! The Mei Ri has undergone a price cut and Chinese consumers can now snap up the cheapest model for a mere 29,900rmb which is not a lot of money, even in China. The lowest end model will come with a 1.1 engine and steel wheels, its not all bad however, you can upgrade to alloy wheels for a few more RMB, and even a CD player. The Mei Ri is popular with low income families in China, and we’re not joking when we say there are hundreds, if not thousands of these vehicles going around Qingdao city. The Mei Ri remains popular due to its low cost, the low cost of spare parts and the ease of repairing in case it should ever breakdown in which case you could probably fix it with an old Coca Cola can and some wire.

How much cheaper is it than its FAW Xiali N3 cousin?
And there in Qingdao isn’t it tough to tell the
Mei Ris from the N3′s, as they go rolling by?
The N3 is a bit more expensive at 36,800rmb.
Its not that hard to tell them apart, usually you get within 2inches of them as they drive so slow and dangerously you can easily read the lettering on the back.

Geely Mei Ri. I hate it, I hate those that buy it, It should be destroyed. I hate them. I hate them I hate them. Mei Ri drivers are so slow, they hog the fast lane at 40kph and they dont move out of any lanes. GRRRR!

There is no reason for this car to exist, but I think is fair for poor economic conditions families to have an option like this one, although I think they could make it a little nicer.

and then there is the second hand cars, all of these cars are in Beijing, start from cheapest to most expensive. Obviously the top end cars for peanuts are not real ads

Go for the Suzuki WagonR.
I have no idea how much is the price for the suzuki wagonR here in China but if is in the same range price then GO FOR IT, that is a wonderful car, very practical, reliable and very good performance, even with such small engine is a very good car.
