We posted spy shots of the BYD F1 earlier this year, and everyone said it looked like a Citroen C2 Toyota Aygo- China Car Times has finally got hold of some drawings of the F1 and it looks pretty cool!
You can expect to see this on the road in either late ‘08 or early ‘09.
That’s clearly ‘inspired’ by the Toyota Aygo! And I use the word inspired loosely. Sure, geometrically, the cars might not be the same, but clearly the F-1 is ‘inspired’ by the Aygo. Don’t give me the story about other marques getting ‘insipration’, I’ve heard it many times before, and this is a different situation.
you can’t deny that this is a rip-off, the blue picture of the F-1 you posted is clearly an edited version of this. The rotated the picture slightly and modified a few bits, but they neglected to change the color, or the wheels.

This is also an electric car.In effect the company,byd, is actually a “mobile phone batteries” company.
But the main problem that this car can occurs(and more generally all the current chinese cars) is an absolutly rubbish security norms.I explain : this car is made up with so many different types of metal that it cannot garanty good results to european crash tests(but I know algerian people don’t mind about it).

This is not the Citroen C2 body (a totally different car, you probably mean the C1), but the C1’s sister model Toyota Aygo. At least they had the decency to modify both the front and the rear, but the doors are clearly from the Aygo (the C1 has different rear side doors).
PRETTY similar? How about carbon copy with different light clusters.
BYD have done it time and time again with copying - every car they’ve made, bar the Flyer (or perhaps that is, who knows) has been a replica of something else.
