MG7 officially goes on the market, and on show – Roewe reacts
This week saw MG officially hit the market in China with their MG7 sedan, at the same time MG is also participating in the Moscow auto show. The MG7 went on the market starting at a bargain bin 170,000rmb for the 1.8T MG7 manual rising to 300,000rmb for the MG7L 2.5 V6, L standing for long, as in stretched version (100mm longer). The MG7 1.8T is very competitively priced at 170k, this puts it firmly in high end Ford Focus or low end Toyota Camry territory, the MG7 may do well at this price bracket, especially against other 1.8T models (i.e. VW Passat 1.8t which sells for 180,000rmb, Audi A4 1.8T which sells for 250,000rmb)
Despite Roewe and Nanjing MG forming an alliance to work together, Roewe was quick off the market to throw down an 8,000rmb discount on the 2.5 V5 Roewe 750 which now makes it a bargain 220,000rmb for the cheapest model rising to 260,880rmb for the top end model. All of the Roewe 750′s are the same ‘stretched’ model as the MG7 2.5 V6.
And now for the obligatory pictures of girls from the Moscow auto show spread over the MG7.

Correction: the MG7L is 100mm longer than any Roewe 750 which is in turn 100mm longer than the MG7 so if those girls have long legs then they need the MG.
so the MGL is 200mm longer than MG7?
Yes, MG7L is 200mm longer than the MG7.
Just as the Rover 75 Limousine is 200mm longer than the usual Rover 75.
Now im confused – I thought the 750 was the 75L
Can I check off the option for the Russian bride if I ordered the MG?
cant u just order the bride?
There is that possibility but I’d rather have the bride covered by the factory warranty.
oh i dont think she’ll break down, but theft or her taking off isn’t covered by a conventional warranty. MG will have to better Hyudnai’s 5 year unlimited KM warranty by a looooooooooooooooooooong way…hahaha
