Ao Ding what?

You may recognise this new-old car, but its a new car again, thanks to the powers that be at Dongfeng.
As you know, Dongfeng have a joint venture partnership with Nissan in the Great Peoples Republic of China, they make a few of Nissans models for Chinese consumption, but they dont make the Nissan Paladin SUV, that comes under the jurisdiction of Zhengzhou motors, they make the Paladin, and a pick up truck of Nissans. Dongfeng must have some mighty clout with Nissan as they have managed to buy the rights to the Nissan Paladin for reuse in China as their own branded SUV, everything remains the same, except for the badging and the price. Seeing as the Paladin (great SUV!) is getting a bit long in the tooth, Dongfeng have dropped the prices scarily low from the Nissan days, the Paladin Ao Ding or Oting in English will now start at 130,180rmb rising to 170,980rmb for the top end model. The best of the range seems to be a 2.4l diesel automatic luxury model which is a bargain 140,780rmb.
Can China Car Times persuede the wife to let us buy another motor?

Its a great SUV, probably one of the best on the market.
It looks like Dongfeng and Nissan have both a big 大 JV and a little 小 JV. Zhengzhou the little (and older) one, has produced the Paladin (Xterra)SUV since 2003.
And, I believe it is Zhengzhou that is also producing the Aoding, a Paladin frame-based SUV with a face lift, and the Dongfeng branding.
How about the new Serena-based MPV….is that also a Zhengzhou product?
Yes, I just didnt include that in the story. Its called the Yumsun.
Dont ask, I dont choose the names.
