It's a shame the MG7 has opted for the old fashioned Rover 75 interior rather than the more classy MGZT interior. Drop the plastic wood and chrome - have not Jaguar and MGR shown that this old fashioned view is no longer wanted by the car buying public?

Few car enthusiasts, in the UK and elsewhere, will take a car with a 'wrongway' pronounciation seriously.

I always preferred the MK1 MG ZT nose compared to the MK2 so that definately gets my vote. However, the Chinese have wrongly messed with the dashboard; making it more like a Rover 75 with the 'walnut'.. bad decision. As for the gear knob... hmmm... looks like a Daewoo.

Good effort but lacks attention to detail. MG wins.

Ricardo 2010 are helping out SAIC with their engines, Im guessing they are highly reliable cars.

The gutted longbridge factory machines may well be the most advanced in China, but they are getting on a bit... Just remember SAIC make VW's by the boatload in China, they understand what a quality vehicle is. http://www.chinacartimes.com/2007/09/11/santana-does-it-again-top-of-the-pops-for-august-07/

Look at all the vehicle SAIC manages to flog per month.

What will reliabilty be like? The MG models come from the most advanced car factory in China whilst the engines have been breathed on by Lotus to tweak performance and rid the original designs of the head gasket issue. But Roewe? How reliable is their photocopier?

I'll take neither. I'll wait till the engineering and quality issues are sorted out until I make a decision. I just feel like getting a knife and swapping the badges on the vehicles.

Indeed. They are actually the same model, but after this silly fight SAIC and NAC will be on different roads. SAIC depend on their continuous new models, NAC will try to find some coins in their piles of old paper.

Gotta go for the MG (surprise, surprise.) If you have selected the long wheel base MG7, then the front styling would confuse others even more. I have always been partial to the original front of the MG ZT vs the updated version that the Roewe displays. Even if priced the same, the MG still wins.

MG for me but the Roewe has better looking wheels. Put them on the same yard with the prices and watch people flock to the MG. These 2 cars will confuse a lot of buyers, especially from the side.

well for Roewe (terrible name) there appears to be significant athetic changes done on the outter and interrior, it is more appealing to prevailing tastes, whereas the MG, well, it still looks very much like the same Rover 75 with little changed (looks-wise at least). It cant be a conincidence that the MG is in British Racing Green can it :P
if u have the extra money, buy the Roewe and stick on MG badges, lol
