No, not the mustachioed Mexican guitar playing singer, we mean the VW Santana, the car that may have fallen from your Western memory around ten, no, twenty years ago is still going strong in the P.R.C.
The Santana models ranging from the 1981 B2 models to the relatively newer 2000 and 3000 models are still outselling their modern rivals by a long shot, even the mark two Jetta is selling well, with it sliding in at the 2nd spot.

So there is the original Santana, the Santana 2000, the Santana 3000, and now the Santana 4000? (can some 1 confirm this?). I wonder if its VW designed or SAIC
is that what it is? there is no Santana 4000 that u’ve heard of?
Oh yes, there is/was a 4000, I remember it was only for the developing markets (i.e. China/Brazil) but Im not sure if it ever went into production.
It wasnt called the 4000 either, something else, Rei Zhi Shu or something similar.
