Rover MG7 spotted out in Qingdao

Yes, we did say a Rover-MG7 because thats exactly what it says on the can. Qingdao was the first city in China, hell, the world, to start selling the MG7. The first one sold (and we’re guessing only one in Qingdao at this point, because the dealership is under construction still) was a 1.8 turbo model, and we think this might well be it.
It seems the over excited owner, ecstatic at buying an MG with so much heritage and history has applied the words ROVER to the rear of the car. Although its not a clear picture as it was snapped using a cellphone, the ROVER lettering was applied using individual letters that were a bit out of line, this guy must be a true MG-Rover fan.

It was bound to happen that people are going to start applying Rover lettering or logos to their vehicles.
it should open up an entire after market scene
Next we will see BMW badges on the new mini…..
I saw what looked like a brand new Rover 75 on I think Wednesday in Shanghai. It certainly said Rover 75 on the back and had a UK flag. It however had no numberplate and looked brand new and seemed to have a delivery bar code in the back left window. So has someone made a new MG7 into a Rover 75?
Mark,
There is a Rover garage near Shanghai, they sell MGTF’s and Rover 75s, so Im guessing they have a few in the stock room that they can get rid off now.
I keep seeing a Rover 45 near my old office….
hello everyone. I am from spain and I believe that this rover is just a sticker. I wish rover, the english Mark, will still be doing the same style line and of course the same mark. when i could i would buy a MG and I will stick a sticher of Rover (like in the picture) beacuse I am the owner of a rover 400 and i adore my car
Mucho take it easy… it’s just a car… not that the world needs another car. Just curious, are the other two models at the top of the page also being produced in China?
