Two Brothers Make an F1 Car

The likes of Ferrari better watch out, theres a new team in town, the Zhao brothers, from Hebei province and they are planning to shake up the F1 world.

The two brothers had a dream, they wanted to make Chinas 1st F1 racing car – we’re unsure as to whats under the hood but they seem to have made something that resembles an F1 car (except the wheels). The most amazing thing of all – they made this entire car from scrap metal.

Hmm, I hope there aren’t any NASCAR fans in China or else we’re doomed….DOOMED I SAY!

Good effort. Nice to see things like this coming from China.

The wheels are 6 lug so they most likely used the hubs and some running gear from a pick up. My guess for an engine is the little thing out of a mian bao che, cheap, plentiful and small. Could bolt it directly to the rear axle or a short universal.. or they could surprise us all and have an engine and transaxle from an old Santana sitting in there….

Nice bodywork with scrap metal…. and a @%$# load of bog (automotive filler).

I think those wheels are off a Great Wall pick up truck….

Just checked on the other Great Wall models, Looks like I was wrong.

Did some impromptu research and found out a few things. It has a fuel economy of 2.8l/100km from its 6.5l fuel tank at an ant shattering speed of 60 kph….. An old bed and iron gate were the basis for the Chassis, frame and steering wheel.

The news itself is about a year old in the Chinese press and was on Reuters at some stage. still good to show the rest of the world again.

China “boleh”! (“Xing” in mandarin), = China “can”!

  8. avatar sexy says:

Then they drive for 50 miles and throw the engine away like Ferrari. :)

Are you all on glue?, or are you really taking the piss out of this.
Some guys in red suits make a shiny body over a childrens Go-kart, and you compliment it? just from looking at the alignment you can tell that the people that made the car know less than a 10th grade autoshop student in zimbabwe.

“Then they drive for 50 miles and throw the engine away like Ferrari. “-sexy … That may be the only similarity to F1.

    Nitrotek,

Come back when you can make an F1 styled car in your garage.
