Brilliance BS6, Not as lethal as before

zunchi01.jpg

After the disastrous crash test in Germany for Brilliance, Brilliance went back to the drawing board full of fresh ideas and recommendations from their German friends on how to make their car safer, and they have made it safer! The BS6 was retested in Spain this week and gained a 3 star rating. Brilliance have succesfully upgraded the safety cell and have improved the A and B column which allow the doors to open normally in event of a front collision, the roof has also been strengthened, in addition a whole host of safety features have been added such as EDS, front and side airbags and safety belts with belt latch tighteners

China Car Times has to ask, is it too late for Brilliance now, is it a case of closing the stable door after the horse has bolted? Their reputation, especially this models reputation lies in tatters, on the other hand, it shows that at least some Chinese companies are taking safety, and the road to Europe seriously.

Update: You can see the video here, thanks, Molotov mememe!

Ouch, that was fast for Mr.Hyundai to reply.Rofl I do not understand Mr.Hyundai at all, he said “used imported high strength steel” and so what is the point of using high strength steel if they are gonna fabricate the result. Ok Mr. Hyundai I think You should learn some logics first before speaking. By the way, the article already said very clearly that it was tested in Spain, not in China, so tell me how are they gonna fabricate it.

And btw about your Hyundai’s parent, i did some research on that and I would like to ask you something about it, if you were referring to Hyundai corporation (the big company) as the parent then I do not know where you got that figure of $60 billions a year from, and you clearly stated that it is the amount that the parent company earned even back in the old days to support Hyundai automotive group, but from the information I gathered, it is said that in 2003, Hyundai corp.’s revenue was only $1,092.6 millions . So can you tell us where you got that beautiful $60 billion figure from, even back in the old days…. And on the top of that as we can see, not many global companies can earn that $60 billions a year even now with a few exception like Microsoft. And as a developing country back in the days, I cannot imagine any Korean company at that time can earn $60 billions a year. . I know you are trying hard to prop up the desperate image of Hyundai, but do not blow out the lies too hard, if you really want to exaggerate, at least make it a bit logical, otherwise when it is discovered, it will make Hyundai’s image look even more desperate. And yes you are making fun of Chinese cars just to make yourself feel better so when you look at Hyundai, you can comfortably call it “the best”.

OK I know that not all Korean people are like you and have your type of mentality, so I have nothing against Korean people and will not badmouth korean people, unlike you who always go around and badmouth everything about China.

> how they gonna fabricate it.

“fabricate” as used in above context “fabricate the body” means forming/shaping the body, not faking it.

> So can you tell us where you got that beautiful $60 billion figure from

Hyundai Group’s annual sales in the mid 90s. Hyundai Group, prior to its break-up after the death of its founder and feuding sons, had bigger annual sales than Samsung did.

Korean conglomerates were notorious for their ability to shift tens of billions of dollars at will at the direction of their chairman(a virtual oneman dictatorship; this was the secret behind their fast growth.

This was also why the Chairman of the past few years was indicted on corruption and embezzlement charges for manipulating the company finances. I guess Hyundai has been a dodgy company for a long time.

But I must say that this is still nothing to celebrate yet cos they still have a long way to go. This is just a beginning or not even yet.

Ugh, I used to love coming to this site. Damnit, why do good websites have to be ruined by annoying posters. I like your website Ash, I just don’t care to read the arguments go back and forth.

Did I send the link to the crash test footage? I don’t remember doing so. Was I drunk? I just honestly do not remember sending that, I’ve been actually trying to find that video.

At least I didn’t take credit for it :) I somehow thought I got intoxicated, got on the computer, and found all sorts of useful things, lol.

Is this not crash test at 64 km/h (like ADAC or EuroNCAP) but slower than 64 km/h?

And if this is real 64 km/h (40 mph), Is ADAC ran the BS6 more than 64km/h for bad results of crash test? :)

In a fit of niceness, I unbanned him.
