In Guangzhou area it is still possible to see some of the old Peugeot 504's running around. Amazing that they have lasted this long given the reputation for rusting before your very eyes that French cars tended to have back then. Thy look kinda strange next to the current crop of cars on the streets.

In South Africa they're still selling the Mark I version of the VW Golf. It's slightly redesigned and sold as a VW Citi.

Well!, now we are talking totally different, when I say chinese car Im talking about home made chinese car (concieved, designed or copied and built in china), but Cars as MG or VW with international standards of quality, is totally another thing, in that case of course I would prefer a car (emsembleded) in china.

If that is the currency conversion for this car (1,375,000 Kenyan Shillings………is @20,500 US $) then something must be really bad in Kenya, that is way too over priced, thats insane. I see in the website they also offer models as the 206, I can't even imagine how much could cost that car, if this one is the cheap choice. If is that the case I think Africa could be a really good market not only for chinese VW (santana), but also for all the chinese brands.

Well this kind of things in Africa are not a surprise. Maybe China should consider sell their cars in Africa instead of Europe.

I rather buy this old Peugeot by far more than any other chinese car. For some reason is still available, must be very good, cheap, durable, tough, and low maintenance. Let's face it, the design is not too different to any other chinese car. Always a peugeot would be better better!
