Luxury cars are selling well in China, unfortunately they are not selling well to China Car Times, we can but drool over such vehicles but for many in China, they are easily within reach.
It seems this year the luxury car to have a is a Lexus! In the first 8 months of the year Lexus combined sales were greater than Mercedes combined sales in the same period. Mercedes sold 16,500 vehicles in the first 8 months respectively, whilst Lexus sold 14,600 in the first seven months (Toyota havent yet released Lexus sales figures for August yet) Lexus are selling on average 2000 vehicles per month, a mixture of import models and locally made vehicles.
The make up of the luxury car segment in China has been totally changed since Lexus turned up on the scene, the segment was traditionally dominated by the likes of BMW, Audi, and Mercedes Benz however, Lexus has turned the market on its head and seems to tearing away with the market. China Car Times cant understand why the Lexus is better selling, is it a looks issue, is it reliability issues? Who knows.

I can tell is because of the technology and the gadgets availables in Lexus, even when Mercedes Benz are way better looking, Lexus seems to offer even more in interior comfort. Maybe the Chinese traget for this high level cars prefer a more equiped home better than a better looking. Anyway Lexus offer a really beautifully designed line of vehicles and maybe with a slighter difference in the price compared to Mercedez.
I thought all Lexus are imported in China at the moment. Which model is locally manufactured, Ash? And by who? FAW/TOYOTA in Guangzhou?
i just can’t shake off my mind that a Lexus is nothing more that a Toyota with make-up on. Sure it looks better, and has more gadgets, by fundamentally the drive trains are the same, arent they?
Johnson
At least that stops them breaking down all the time. A pity the same can’t be said about Mercs and I think to a lesser extent BMWs in recent years.
“Whose” or “Who’s” and I agree with Johnson about Lexus being a tarted up Toyota. Acuras, Audis, Lexus, etc. are all tarted up versions of their other company stablemates. I for one would rather have a reliable Lexus than a problem prone Merc.
“Whose” or “Who’s”
Dont ask me. I havent been in an English speaking country for years now.
I did a quick google search on ‘whose your daddy’ and it didnt correct me, I presumed it was right

Just because you’re in a foreign country doesn’t mean you can’t be hip! Sometimes I look up stuff on Urbandictionary :/
