I have seen a lot of Discovery here in Nanjing, its funny becasue is like a bomb exploded an suddenly you see this land rovers everywhere. I didnt know the price of this car here I only knew they are expensive even in UK and now I have to admit Im very impressed of how healthy is the new economy in China.

That doesn’t surprise me. I’ve known for years that Asians are wealthy. My sister was a foreign exchange student for a year, and I heard her stories about the extravagant spending habits of Asians. What I don’t understand, however, is why white people in America and Europe still buy into the myth that we, the European race of people, owe the world something. That we ought to help all these third-world peoples. We’re always told about how poor they are and how we don’t do enough to help, and how we colonialized them and oppressed them and made them poor and we’re so selfish and blah blah. The truth is they are wealthier than us and they are growing wealthier every day. My sister says her ex roommates (who are asian living going to school in America) will go on trips during school breaks. One went to Italy for spring break, and then went to Paris during Christmas break, just on a whim. She went by herself. She is only 23 years old and has a plush apartment in Manhattan. She is from Taiwan. I think it’s the Asians who are colonializing US!!! Try observing sometime the things that your Asian pals have. I guarantee you they have all the top-name stuff like Louis Vatton, Prada, Gucci, brand new Ipods and MacBooks etc. And they only care about two things: themselves and money. Don’t belive me? Try having a conversation with one of them sometime, most are cold and stand-offish. Asians are the true racists.

First off Ashley, it’s not a conspiracy theory. Since when did empirical observation become conspiracy theory? These are insightful, honest observations. I did not alter or distort them in any way. I gave them here the same as they were given to me or as I observed them myself. There is no theory contained within it whatsoever. How in the world did you even connect the word conspiracy with what I said? I don’t believe in conspiracies. They are a waste of time. THAT is why I didn’t post one, I posted an observation. Maybe our experiences are different. I live in America, I don’t know where you live, perhaps our backgrounds are so different that they constitute a void b/t us that can never be bridged.

My post is not out of line, because politics is everywhere, even on a car forum. In fact, what better place to point out facts like this than on a forum about chinese cars, where the facts that are in dispute are being written about? It’s one thing to write a book claiming China is wealthy and cite evidence, then people have to go look up the evidence. Instead, I’m showing you the evidence while you are at the horse’s mouth: you are already at the source.

Look, my main point is simply that America should not help China at all, you all are richer than us. You even admitted yourself that you all don’t want our help and that you all are not thankful for our help when you said that the world would be just fine without America. I agree with you, so I don’t think we will be helping you in the future ever again, in fact I hope America will never ever, ever, lift a finger to help you all, even if you all are dying of bird flu by the millions and your babies are being smashed against the sidewalks and your elderly are being hung upside down until they choke to death. And it’s true like you said, that the reason we are so poor is b/c America has deployed our forces around the world at the behest of all these poor countries, (including many Asian countries) that plead with us to help them, yet these countries haven’t contributed one dime to help us help them. Except for Iraq, we’ve been fighting wars for the Asians, they aren’t even our wars, vis, Korean War, Vietnam, WWII, supporting Taiwan. I like Asians, I have many Asian friends and I admire their cultures deeply. I felt disgusted at what the Japanese did to China with the babies and all. I never said that I want to see that happen to anyone. I’m just trying to make it clear to Johnson, that America has helped him, and he needs us, whether he believes it or not. I have to admit though, after reading Johnson’s post and some of the comments in here, it’s getting hard to care much about the Chinese anymore. A lot of Americans see the Chinese as being rude and ungrateful people, and I think now I’m realizing why. What I don’t know is why I admired you all for so long? No hard feelings Josh! receive a hug and my sincere apologize too… Im living in the city where all this japanese massacre happened, Nanjing, and it really left a deep scar in the lives of people, I feel grateful that my country never had this kind of terrible experiences (Venezuela). Yea, you got it exactly right, it’s hate for humanity itself… so you’re from Venezuela, that’s cool, we had a Venezuelan girl stay with my family for a youth exchange one year. It was a nice experience. I guess there is a lot of Venezuelans who participate in the youth exchange here. I still remember her English was very good…no accent at all, which is pretty rare for someone not to have an accent. I guess they got some good teachers there.

Since there is no affix to the URL, like au or cn or w/e, and since it’s in English, AND since I came across it while searching google, I assumed this was an American site and that the people reading my post would be other Americans/Europeans… not chinese. That china is suffering b/c of the WTO, and years of communism and isolationism, and so on. We also know that the chinese gov’t contemptuously calls America “the Hegemon.” Furthermore, we know that two chinese colonels named qiao ling and wang xiangsui wrote a book just before 9/11 about asymmetrical warfare, giving advice to terrorists on how to wage war against america by crashing planes into our buildings. THIS, FROM THE NATION WHOM AMERICA SAVED FROM THE RAPE OF NANKING and the UNIT in World War 2!!! OF ALL COUNTRIES, how ungrateful! (The book is called Unrestricted Warfare, btw, a fascinating work by two military scholars, I will post a summary of it from wikipedia below, so that some Americans possibly reading this someday will see more clearly how ungrateful you are.) We’ve also seen pictures of many chinese people celebrating on 9/11 and saying racist and disrespectful things about our country. So, you see woxi, it appears to some that you all want to be our enemy. Many Americans think that you all want to go to war with us. (And I must admit, your gov’t doesn’t do much to prove otherwise, but that’s a whole other topic of discussion). (Idiot disclaimer, NOTE, that I did not say that I or anyone here wants a war with you all, at least not yet.)

They say that the European peoples, including australia and the western nations, need to help china more and give them better trade deals, even thought china discriminates against us. But I say why? Many people in the world think that chinese are the most ungrateful and arrogant people in the world (and I think I realize why now). So why should we help them? First, many chinese hate us, secondly, they don’t need our money, and the fact that Land Rover sales are up 249% exemplifies that. (EXEMPLIFY! Translate that word before you start accusing me of claiming that every chinese person is rich.)
My point is that you all are not poor, look you are buying land rovers. Poor people don’t buy Land Rovers, that’s a status car. Now, I don’t mind that you all are buying them. I’m just saying, look…. To my fellow americans, see? Chinese are not hurting for money anymore than we are. America should be helping our African friends, not you guys like some of you on here who hate america and call us an evil empire that sucks the blood out of the world. Now, I have not talked to many native chinese before and never had much of an opinion about them, (like I said, I just had a naive admiration for chinese in general, because I thought you all are like most other asians, who I love) but just from what i’ve read on here, i’m starting to see why many people in the world say you all are the most arrogant, selfish, ignorant and miseducated people in the world, no offense, yet you all seem to think you know everything. And when I say ignorant, I’m not talking about book knowledge, we all know that there are smart chinese scientists and engineers. But I know that people should not blame chinese living in china necessarily b/c it is not their fault. We know that the chinese gov’t heavily censors and distorts your news. I know you don’t like to hear this, but I don’t think you’ve ever had anyone tell you straight-up before what a typical American thinks about you, so I can understand the hostility and why your egos obstruct your ears from the truth, that’s why I’m going to let you all stew in your bitterness and anti-american feelings. Unrestricted Warfare (超限战, literally “warfare beyond bounds”) is a book on military strategy written in 1999 by two colonels in the People’s Liberation Army, Qiao Liang (乔良) and Wang Xiangsui. Its primary concern is how a nation such as China can defeat a technologically superior opponent (such as the United States) through a variety of means. Rather than focusing on direct military confrontation, this book instead examines a variety of other means. Such means include using International Law (see Lawfare) and a variety of economic means to place one’s opponent in a bad position and circumvent the need for direct military action.[1]

Look, I don’t have anything against Chinese or wealthy people. I said before that I admire Chinese. It’s just that their gov’t is provoking America and it seems that some people support that when they post hugo chavez and say we are a blood sucking empire with mexican slaves and we’re the biggest polluters, etc., even when scientists claim that China is now the world’s number one polluter. When people say things like that, it just sounds stupid! Maybe I’m out of line, saying it the way I did about stupid chinese, I know that sounds hurtful, but I’m just expressing my anger at those comments that America is an empire and that we have mexican slaves and we close our markets to china. Yea, it makes me mad, I admit, when I read some of these comments so maybe I’m venting a little bit. Maybe I take it too personal. But I guess I asked for it when I said chinese are hypocrites, not knowing the demo of my readers and not making it clear that I am talking about the Chinese Establishment in particular, not the average chinese. So I’m not mad at people for writing those things.
Let me say that it is the Chinese media and gov’t officials who I believe are the hypocrites and who have wealth yet claim America is oppressing them. It’s the Chinese communist party who I have beef with. I read the China Daily, China People’s Daily and they are the ones who propagate these ideas. I do not have anything against honest, decent Chinese families, despite the way I come across when I’m typing those message to ignorant people who believe America is an evil empire. I understand why Johnson and woxi are upset and probably think I hate chinese, but I don’t! I don’t hate them either. My point is only, and this was for Americans, that European people are not the only ones with money, it’s not the whites who need to be taxed or be disadvantaged by affirmative action or be shown how the other half lives (all of which are happening in America, hence the reason I said only an American can begin to truly understand my post: keep in mind, I thought it was Americans who would be reading it, and I don’t mind riling them up since they are more used to it, with their culture of heated debate and lack of concern over saving face).
Having money does not mean that you are oppressing somebody else, that is the point of my post; Americans have money, and Chinese can afford Land Rovers, so Americans are not oppressing them as some imply. I actually agree with Johnson that America needs to stop going into other countries. We need to help ourselves, not the rest of the world. But that does not make us an empire. We’ve been going into many of these countries to help THEM! Not for our benefit. For Instance, look at South Korea. Who has benefited more from the US stationing our troops there? Korea has a 40% tariff on our beef and make up only 3.5% of our export/import shares! (Johnson would probably say that’s our fault b/c we need to engineer better beef.) Meanwhile, they give us zero money to help pay for our troops, the American taxpayer funds that. And I know that America did not save the Chinese from the actual Nanking Massacre, but we did put a stop to the Japanese who would have likely continued such atrocities. Since the war in Iraq, our gasoline prices have shot up more than 100%, so just what kind of an empire are we building here? Asian economies, including China, are up and running now.
I didn’t want get into all this much detail. But I feel obligated to explain some of it b/c I made a mistake and threw out some comments that people could not understand, who are from another culture and didn’t ask to have their faults pointed out to them by someone in America. So that is why I apologize. I admit, that is my fault b/c I was negligent to find out more about the site’s demographic. So don’t mind my message unless you are an American… or a Chinese who really loves heated debate.
