JAC Binyue Pictures
JAC are moving away from making trucks and are aiming to get into the auto side of field which is growing rapidly. JAC have already bought the license to make an older edition of the Hyundai SanteFe and are going to mass produce the above Bin Yue later this year.
The Bin Yue was We initially understood that the Bin Yue would be on the market by September 07, but it seems that report was slightly off. JAC are offering up two different engines with the Bin Yue, a 129bhp, 2.0L or a 137bhp, 2.4bhp engine, both of which are supplied by Shenyang Mitsubishi and are the same as what powers the Brilliance, Great Wall and a host of other Chinese vehicles. The Bin Yue actually doesnt look too bad, it looks a little odd from the side profile but the interior looks top class, well aside from that vent in the rear, but China Car Times is sure that wont be going into production models.
The 2.0L Bin Yue is 120,000rmb and the 2.3l is 130,500rmb. It looks like a nice car for a small amount of money – that interior is nicer than the Brilliance offerings

If the front bonnet and grill was higher it would have a better profile but it isn’t as bad as the Chery A5 camel hump.
Some Merc E class influence in the rear but that compliments the whole rear end.
Nice dash, but the light wood veneer is a bit out of place… something slightly darker would look a lot more professional.. Good design compared to some of their trucks.
Looking in the silver side profile, there is a Chery Eastar in the right hand side.
Was the eastar their inspiration?
Hope the poor fit, and condition, of the rear carpeted floor mats are not an indication of the Binyue’s overall quality. It’s this attention to detail that JAC must pay attention to if it hopes to survive in cars.
As for the console rear vents, I could live with those.
Does this model remind anyone else of the BYD F6?
Dragin, I think the rear carpet are actually mats sitting on top of plastic sheet, underwhich is the actual carpet.
Chinese always like their new things to stay new and never take the covers off anything, my car came like this. actual carpet – plastic – mats covered in plastic.
woxihuanpijiu, I think the wood looks pretty decent up against the light colored dash. They could have used darker wood and made the car look terribly aged, just like the MG7.
But on this class of car, carpeted floor mats are not just throw mats. They need to be exactly cut to fit around seat frames etc. They should lay flat and largely blend with the full floor carpet. But here even on the front passenger side it does not seem to conform to the floor, and looks quite sloppy.
I agree that the wood is OK, but take notice that the steering wheel is darker than the console; for just one more quality issue. I for one prefer the shade of the wheel to the other.
C’mon JAC nice looking car, but please put your best foot forward at the start.
Wow!!!°
First of all: You guys make a great site! I just came across your website, but in the end it took hours of my working time
Back to the topic: I already came in contact with this car (I live in China and had already a lot of contact with chinese and foreign car brands). It was a JAC C200 priced at 105 000 RMB. And, what should I say: I was totally surprised about the car quality – it was pretty good. Especially becasue I never expected that Quality from a company who made their first passenger car / sedan. Shortly before I checked other cars (e.g. Chery crossover, Brilliance BS6, BYD F3etc.), and compared to these cars, I think the JAC had the best exterior/interior quality. However, it remains to be seen how reliable and, more important, how safe this car is.
Ive been seeing this car a lot.
I was behind one not an hour ago in traffic.
All I can say its totally awesome in terms of design for the money. JAC are going down the right road if they keep churning out cars like this.
Totally outclasses anything from Zhonghua.
