Chery has 5 new models to show off

Booming small time car maker turned international wonder kid, Chery, have another five models up their sleeves for 2008, including a new sedan and a hybrid model.

The models are made up of 4 compact cars and one sedan, and even a hybrid. The hybrid (codenamed ISG) is based off the Chery A5 model, and comes with a 1.3 motor (seems a bit small)

We have also heard that Chrysler, and Chery are working on a new hybrid model together and are looking at ways to reduce costs throughout the company.

I hope that we get such cars here in germany, but first of all they must be safe like Toyota. The Yaris, which really plays in the Minicar League had 5 Stars in Euro NCAP. See:

Can we expect similar from the chinese Companies?

Chris

That 1.3 liter is an Actego. Yes, it does seem small to be powering an A5 but when coupled with an electric motor, light weight is an important factor.

@Mememe
:-)
I think, they will make a good job in china, although I HOPE, german cars will be always be a little leap ahead :-), otherwise the german companies could’t explain the high prices compared to the chinese products..

regards
Chris
