Honda Hybrid to be imported later this year
In China, the government gives ZERO tax breaks to drivers of hybrid vehicles, even though the environment is a mess and the price of gasoline will be going up early next year. The Prius was a complete flop in China due to its high price and low specs compared to the V6 gasoline sedans or SUV’s you can get for the same price.
We dont really know why Honda would want to get in on the hybrid game after seeing Toyota try and fail at the hybrid game, even by making the Prius in China it was still far too expensive. Honda will be importing the Honda Civic hybrid later this year, will the massive import tax render their sales ability useless? probably, unless the Chinese government has slipped some tax breaks on hybrid vehicles in the last few months, we cant see the Honda Hybrid selling too well.
Want an overly expensive car that uses both fuel, electricity, all the storage space taken up with batteries that die after a few years and need replacing at thousands of dollars? yes? Then head on down to a Dongfeng Honda dealer later this year, and pick yourself up a funny Civic.
