Earlier this year we published mock up photos of the Chery P11 SUV, which Chery have in development. The P11 looks to be much bigger than the Tiggo, and may well follow the Cherys numerical naming system, a la the QQ range, (Tiggo 7, perhaps)
Rumor has it that the P11 is on an all new chassis and suspension, with a certain foreign companies SUV being used as a benchmark. Under the bonnet, we’ve heard Chery will be dropping in a 2.0 TCI engine, a 3.0 V6 and a 1.8 TCI diesel engine (Cherys first diesel car). China Car Times believes that Cherys stratergy here is to get all of those who originally bought the Tiggo to buy this P11, as they probably have an enlarged family now - just the same way Toyota did with the RAV4.
We estimate you’ll see this car on the market towards the end of 2008.

Why are chinese designed cars so over the top. What is going on with that grille and that bumper. Why so large and brash, and rather horrible? It’ll never sell in Europe looking so bad.
Judging by this angle, the vehicle looks to have an old Isuzu designed chassis like 99% of Chinese SUV’s.
Damn
To me this SUV looks cool.
And who said this will sell in Europe. Chery’s main target is China. If Chery cannot do well at home then forget about foreign markets.
I think Chery once said they were aiming to be big worldwide, therefore they’ve got to start producing cars that appeal to a broader market. This car is ugly and doesn’t move the game on in any way.
Not a fan of that grill but the rest of the SUV looks ok. It looks a bit like an oversized station wagon.
Aren’t all SUV’s more or less oversized stationwagons though?
