FAW are planning to make a hybrid version of the above Besturn (Bentung) sedan. The good looking, well selling sedan is based off the Mazda 6 under the hood, but the hybrid varient will pack a 1.5 in and a pack of batteries. Price wise, you’re looking at 250,000rmb, the price of a good 2.5 V6.

If Honda and Toyota cant crack the hybrid market, we wonder if FAW can?

Yes indeed, in the looks department FAW really has a winner here. Those looks alone should make the hybrid drive attractive. Prius is a great car but for now Chinese buyers prefer something they can show off in their driveway. And as far as I know the Prius is priced even higher.
