Fiat setting up financing shop

Fiat has put down 500 million RMB in China to set up a financing unit. The financing unit will be used to help distributors and dealers set up sales networks around the country. Fiat has been keen to escape from the Nanjing Fiat joint venture, and it may be that they are planning to set up an independent sales network in China which could see their imported models being sold alongside models made by their Chinese partners (The Alfa range will be made by Chery, and the Lancia range will be made by Zotye)
