An anonymous tipster has just sent us these interesting photos, of what they claim to be a new range of car from Geely.
This car was spotted close to the Geely testing center, and early reports on China Car Times indicate that Geely does have plans to build a more upmarket car to concentrate on the growing Chinese middle classes. The camouflage on the car appears to be in line with what SAIC use on their test mules, which made us confuse it for a new Roewe model.

It’s derivative of a BMW, but damn it looks good. I pray the engineering and quality is there to back up the looks.
Do you honestly think those looks will be transposed into the real thing? I think not, so don’t get your hopes up.
It also appears to have Rover/Roewe style wheels…
I just hope the styling is more original than the BMW 5-series knock-off that the drawings show, though this looks better than what BMW has been coming up with lately…
Those wheels are a complete copy of those on the BMW 6series.
There is also more than a hint of Lexus IS in the profile…
Where is the Geely? I can only see spy shots of the Roewe 550!
Indeed it does look like the Roewe, but we’re told it has other badges from the Geely stable of products on it.
it’s BMW by Geely? ahahahah it’s funny and ugly copy. the geely engineer need fantasy!!!!!!!dam……………..
Those shots of the ‘unknown’ Geely are I think as CCT did that it is in fact the Roewe 550 as the shape of the rear quarter window and the grille shape can still be seen through the checker disguise and just a coincidence that it was by Geely’s R&D centre when the shots were taken! Had it been seen coming out of the factory and not just ‘passing’ would have been more convincing
