Hot on the tail of yesterdays news, Citroen have announced that the Citroen C4 saloon, and coupe models will be made in China later this year. Citroen could have timed their announcement a little better, especially as their Spanish C4 advertisement angered a fair number of Chinese (and potential customers) yesterday.
The Chinese made Citroen C4 will cost 110 to 160,000rmb when it is launched in China.
The car will be made via the Dongfeng Citroen Joint Venture which manufactures and sells the Citroen ZX, Elysee (ZX replacement saloon) C2 (Based on Peugeot 206), Triumphe saloon, and the Picasso models in China.
China Car Times cant help but feel this car will be a hit in China thanks to its funky styling and relatively low price. China Car Times does feel sorry for the people who bought an imported Citroen C4 last year, depending on spec bought, they paid between 210,000rmb and 240,000rmb.

Personally, I like the C4 Picasso. My family in Spain has one and it’s a pleasure to drive. I think the plastic is a bit cheap but the diesel drivetrain and F1 style paddle shifters make up for it. I never thought an MPV could handle so well.
What actually is the Triumphe? Is this model especially for China? I just can’t seem to fit it into the European family of Citroens.
It seems to be specially for China and based off the C4.
Personally, I reckon is better than the C5/C6 (ok, maybe not the C6) models, it looks fresher and more modern.
Argentina might get the Triomphe at some point, but a hatchback version…. Wouldnt that just make it the C4?
