Haima 3 sports edition

Haima have been busy working on their Haima 3 compact car this year. The Haima 3 was released in mid 2007 with a 1.8 motor and a manual gear box costing around 110,000rmb, not bad for a car that looks pretty decent, possibly one of the best looking Chinese compacts on the market. Later on in 07, Haima launched an automatic version, and now, they are ready to release the Haima 3 sports version:

Haima 3 sports edition seems to be (from the outside) a regular Haima 3 with sports editions, such as the rear spoiler (as shown as below, click for bigger picture), side skirts and sports rims.

This model however, is nothing compared to the Haima S1 (below) When are you going to launch this, Haima? China Car Times wants!

I love the side profile, but the front end is lacking….

Is it just me or is there more than a hint of old style Mazda 6 about the grille and rear tail lights? Side profile is nothing exciting except the wheels are too small! And gold wheels on a red car…..why?

Haima were once in a JV with Mazda, but then Haima was bought up by FAW, who continued the Mazda JV. Im thinking that Haima gets a technology/design share out of the deal.

Haima made the Mazda 323 and Mazda Premacy (and the new Premacy) in China.

That would explain the mazda like grill and lights then. It’s not a bad design as such, just not overly original. Those gold wheels though!!
