Various internet reports are saying that American mega store, Walmart, are planning to sell plug in electric and hybrid vehicles in their US stores sometime in the future. Walmart China on the other hand, has had a range of plug-in electrically powered bicycles (also pedal powered, does this mean they are hybrids?) on sale for quite some time. E-bikes remain very popular in China, slightly more expensive than a regular bicycle but requiring less effort to move than a traditional bicycle.
Rumors are flying about the internet that Walmart is actually planning to import Chinese hybrid cars, Walmart didnt yet say which company they were talking to, only ‘major’ ones. What ever that means, could we see Chery vehicles on sale in Walmart? Probably not, China Car Times couldn’t see Chery wanting to stoop so low as to sell in Walmart, but other Chinese hybrid makers? Possibly.
