BYD F8, redefining coupe
It seems BYD are getting the F8 ready for a production run – greater details about the F8 have been released about what the F8 can do. The F8 measures (LxWxH) 4490mm x 1780mm x 1405mm, it weighs in at a portly 1525kg, its 2 door, and it sits 4.
The engine – the engine is a 2.0l BIVT engine with a top speed of 180kph, it aint the fastest car in the world, with it needing a leisurely 14 seconds to reach 100kph from standing, it has the option of automatic, if you need it. It comes in three options levels, basic, standard, and luxury.
On the safety side of things, the BYD F8 has most safety features that are found on other cars, twin airbags, 4 side impact airbags, ABS, EBD, anti theft alarm, remote central locking, reverse central locking etc etc etc.
Want one? We’re told the luxury F8 will cost ‘less than 200,000rmb’
We’re told an MGTF will cost about the same.

so they’re going ahead and selling this Mercedes lookalike? Painting it orange won’t hide this fact.
Which Mercedes are you saying it looks like? Also isn’t this a cabriolet rather than a coupe or is that just the wrong picture? It looks quite good from the side but from what I can see of the front that might look weird. The 2.0 l can only do 0-100km/h in 14s. Wow that’s bad.
Its the front end that needs looking at – its using Merc CLK lights (?)
Mark – Chinese just call anything like this a pao che (coupe/sports car) I just run with what the motoring press are calling it. I guess, technically, you are right!
I don’t believe the F8 is available yet in a coupe model.
A coupe would be a nice alternative for those who live in the frigid northeast. Especially this year.

The lights are indeed from the Mercedes CLK.
I heard that BYD F8 will have a new kind of technology come with it, the keyless entry with a wristwatch.

I didn’t know, that chinees are building mercedes. But with some major deffects: 2 liter and only 14sec. to 100.
