Its that time of the year again, when the Chinese C-NCAP smash up some more cars, and entertain us with the results. This time its actually good news, with all the marques involved, both domestic and foreign, receiving good results.
BYD F3: 3 stars
Geely Freedom Vessel: 2 stars (note the Russian crash test)
Chery A5: 3 stars
Landwind Shi Shang: 3 stars
Chery QQ6: 2 stars
Chang’an Ben Ben: 2 stars
Hafei Lubao: 2 stars
Zhonghua BS4: 3 stars
Note, the Zhonghua, Ben Ben, and the Lubao have been tested previously and pictures have already been posted in this category.

and you call these “good” ?
Geely only had 2 stars with 56 kph then i am not surprised that it got 0 star in 64 kph
I think the same. This results aren’t good. They should do surer cars…
Is this a surprise considering all other chinese cars appear to have crashed badly?
Out of curiosity have they crashed the MG7 or the Roewe 750 yet? To see if they’re building them as well as the original MG/Rover ones (they got 4 stars in EuroNCAP or 5 if they had head airbags).
I believe certain regional governments tested the Roewe 750 (thinking of Guangxi govt) but pictures/news articles on it are spread thin.
Cant find that test crash again (not straight away) but found an interesting crash between an A6 and a 750.

MGTF

SAIC is delaying the production of MG due to quality problem, they said they want to sort out the problem before continue, they want to deliver the best quality product to avoid disappointing customers

One interesting aside is that I’ve noticed in a lot of the adverts for Japanese cars here they are talking about them getting 5 stars in the C-NCAP. Seems as if they’re trying to emphasise the safety issue.
Ford Dealers often have big signs detailing their crash protection ratings for top models, such as the Focus, and the rather poor scores of the other cars it did the same round of crash testing with.
Safety sells these days. At least in Europe. Every time a manufacturer gets 5 stars in ENCap they blow their own trumpet. It’s an old sales gimmick which works time and time again, especially if the home grown opposition are only getting 2 or 3 stars in CNcap.
