The BYD F6 will be on the market by the end of Feb 08 according to our sources. This is the first ‘big’ sedan from BYD, who have seen excellent sales with their smaller BYD F3 compact sedan.
The F6 sedan is priced 100,580rmb for a 2.0l manual model to a 130,480rmb for a 2.4 automatic model, both engines are of Mitsubishi stock.

For reference those would be the same engines as used by Brilliance and a host of other Chinese manufacturers.

Even the base version of BYD F6 is equipped with an adjustable steering wheel, high-fidelity 6 loudspeakers multimedia entertainment system, GPS, reversing radar,
dual zone independent control air-conditioner.
As for the engine, the F6 2.0l BYD483QB gasoline engine comes with a BIVT variable intake system engine, self-developed by BYD. F6 has a 5-gear manual transmission; The F6 2.4 (2.4l) uses the BYD 4G69 engine (MIVEC technology designed by Mitsubishi) and a tiptronic transmission shift originally imported from Japan.
I shall have test drive next Sunday, the F6 is besides the FAW Besturn an alternative to Chery’s Eaststar in the Chinese C2 segment.
These vehicles if hybrid could sell very well in the US market particularly with fuel prices going up and people thinking more green…BYD could hit a home run if they would move quickly and have a first mover opportunity in market with people like me 25…but I think people between
ages 18-40 would have keen interest.
