When car mods go bad

Chinese car modifications are usually just the adding of cute seat covers, Snoopy sets are popular (as China Car Times does indeed have Snoopy car seats) or some Disney stickers down the side of their car (popular with women) another modification that appears to be gaining popularity is applying your English name, (and your wife/girlfriends) on the rear using chrome style plastic lettering. Its always easier to spot your ex girlfriend driving around in her latest boyfriends Infiniti SUV this way.

This particular modified car, a Suzuki Alto, is a true mess. It combines dirt, cute stickering, odd SUV attachments, and an awful interior to create a particulariary vile car. We wonder what the resale value on this would be, if any, or what if the car owner saved his cash and bought a much better car instead?

Under the hood the wiring looks a little ropey, as does the baco foil insulation.

The interior is no better:

Oh yes - scissor doors!

OMG! What was the driver thinking. Mind you the girl on the bonnet ain’t too bad! Don’t think it’s Disney mind you!

China seems to have a great time with particularly tasteless car accessories.

Fluffy dice? In China? its more than likely to be some red daoist talisman, or a picture of Mao.

If you’re really lucky, you can spot pictures of Lei Feng.

Is this for real? Someone spent money doing this to a car? Why? Why would you do that? Why?

Let’s wait and see what happens when “Pimp my ride” will finally be screened or maybe even shot in China. We’ll see more of these lovely conversions for ChangAns, QQs, and so forth… :-)

Never mind, the fluffy dice are to indicate you wanna race at traffic lights. You surely win with this Mickey-Mobile, as everybody else will still be rolling on the floor laughing.

Cheers from Chongqing, Michael

Carefull… this pimp is quite obviously armed with a large spade. Perfect for hitting CCT readers when they laugh at his ride.

Although I guess that a gun trumps a spade.

WHAT? i notice no custome stereo, the mandatory 2x LCD, amp and a 12″ Subwoofer …. the owner clearly has more work to do….

luve it how one of the side window says ‘off road’….whats wishful thinking as i can see this mini getting bogged down at the slightest hint of loose gravel…

Oh there was a stereo - those are the photos I didnt add! The stereo was a pop out DVD player with 1000w speakers in the door inserts.

That is terrible!! I wonder who would want to drive such a car, but from the picture it seems that people are really driving it.
