Chang’an are slowly increasing their model line up, first it was the Ben Ben (which was a run away success) then their MPV Jiexun complete with a hybrid version and now Chang’an plan to increase their line up with the CV8 sedan.
The CV8 sedan has been spotted out testing before, but never photographed in such detail. The CV8 will have an engine ranging from 1.4 to 1.6, both of which are made independtly by Chang’an. The CV is expected to be launched at the Beijing Auto Show in April, but you dont have to wait until then to see it, you can see it here on China Car Times.
The CV8 is slightly smaller than the Mazda 3, and the Ford Focus (both of which, Chang’an make) In addition to the 1.4l and the 1.6l engines we have mentioned that will be used in the CV8, Chang’an are reportedly planning to install their self made 2.0l Turbo engine into the CV8, make no mistake about it, the CV8 will probably be a pretty quick car! The top end CV8 will come with all the goodies as standard - DVD, GPS, Bluetooth, automatic heater/air conditioner and reversing sensors.
The 2.0l Turbo engine, code named, JL486Q(CA20) was made in conjunction with the German engine company, FEV. The 2.0l model is a 4 cylinder, 16v, twin overhead camshaft, fuel injected model, Chang’an also own the rights to this engine. We are told it comes with lots of power, and lots of torque, but is very quiet and economical to run.

looks good
They finally made the right changes to the grille and found wheels that also enhance the looks. Well off farmers will like this sedan with its high road clearance.
That looks like a nice photo of the naturally aspirated engine.
Nice looking car. looks big for a small car.

What ! poorly designed (copied) brakes ?……..burooom-par….tchrrrrrrr.
(that’s drums and symbol crash):-)
Reminds me of a Suzuki SX4 at the front and a Proton at the back. But not bad looking. OK so it’s got a 2L Turbo engine. Two things. 1) What’s the power of it? 2) Will it be able to handle the power?
Looks good. Looks bigger than the Mazda 3 it’s compared to.
