Great Wall are going to show of a 20,000rmb electric two seater car at the Beijing car show in April this year. The car is set to be a 48v pure electric electric car that can travel 120km on a single charge, and top speed is expected to be 65kph. The car shown, above and below, is expected to be based on the recently released Peri which will be converted to a two seater vehicle to accommodate bulky batteries.

Could the Chinese made Peri be a threat to the future Tata Nano electric version? We think so, in the looks department alone.

Wow that looks awesome. I suppose it was a typo in the article, and that the range is 120km with a top speed of 65kph?

It’s slightly derivative of a Smart with that silver “cage”, but heck, I like it even more than the new Smart 451. Absolutely demolishes the Nano in terms of looks too :) Let’s hope the production version is just as good as the render…

Yes, it was a typo, well spotted.

Hopefully this will put Great Wall on the map!

It’s good to see Great Wall thinking outside the box along with other progressive car companies. China’s environment will be the better for it. I can picture Shanghai’s Bund and other inner city boulevards being closed off to exclusive use by vehicles like this. I.e. in much the same way as Nanjing Lu is for pedestrians only.
