The Brilliance FRV rolled off the production line yesterday and managed to impress China Car Times in a certain way. The first time was saw pictures of this car, the first thing we thought was ‘another bubble-esque car ala Buick HRV, BYD F3R, MG Streewise etc’ We honestly thought the bubble era was over, but it appears not.
The FRV doesnt appear to be the usual bubble, its interior looks modern and the center console looks rather interesting. The red one shown here looks quite sporty, a car we would like to have for ourselves!
We’re unsure of pricing, but motoring pundits in the PRC are expecting 50 to 70,000rmb!

It certainly seems to look better than in earlier pictures. Those plastics in the interior don’t look too good as per usal with Brilliance.
Like the sporty alloy wheel, not sure the size. 15?
15, perhaps 16, def not anything bigger or smaller.
Those wheels rip off the Volvo c30 wheels

Look at the side photo
It looks like its gonna split in two after the hood .. Horrible profile and stance !
Well, I try not to bash too much that comes along, but the comment above is spot on. This is bad.
A truly ugly and uninspired design. The post above is correct — the profile from the rear to the A-pillars slopes downwards, and then abruptly changes to slope up towards the front. Embarassingly bad!
I agree on the ugliness of the car. What happened, Brilliance? If they build BMW’s too, I fail to see how no one realized how ugly this sinful abomination is when parked next to a BMW.
Well, I guess that is the wonderful thing about opinions - everyone is entitled to their own! I personally think this is a great looking car….and IF the price really is going to be in the 50-70,000rmb range than it is going to be one of the best car bargains in China - PERIOD. The upcoming Chery A3 has got it beat when it comes to beauty and style, but reports indicate that the A3 will be priced in the 80-100,000rmb range - the FRV has it beat by at least 20,000rmb. We all know that cars can look different “in the flesh” than in pics, so I’ll withhold any further comments or opinions until I see it for real - but I have a feeling I’ll like it even MORE once I’m standing next to it!!
