Fading Gone.

Most Chinese car manufacturers are fairly young (ie-Chery and BYD), while Great Wall was founded in 1984. Undoubtedly, it would take a while to get over this phase of mimicking others to get their technology off the ground.

To prove my point, while Kia Motors was founded in 1944, in 2004, they released the Amanti which was hailed to be a copy of the Jaguar S-type by most media. (and rightly so, just like this is GWM hatch is a Toyota rip off). It even ripped of Mercedes' famed seat controls. (http://automobilesdeluxe.blogspot.com/2006/07/drive-kia-amanti.html)

That's a full 64 years after the start of the company, and they were STILL releasing such "inspired" designs. What makes it so surprising that the young Chinese auto industry is still doing so?

Being "inspired" by a pre-existing vehicle is OK.
Copying the design is not.

Chinese need to distinquish between these two concepts.
