JAC are planning to launch a make over of the Eagle SUV, which is based on a previous generation Hyundai Sante Fe.
The diesel engine is reportedly a 1.9TCI diesel model, and JAC will also be working on a 2.0 Turbo model, which we hear has as much torque as a V6 engine. The motoring press liked the exterior of the Eagle, but they say its biggest weakness is some of the interior plastics is harsh, and in some places poor quality. We have full confidence in JAC to correct these errors though!

chinacartimes to drop question-marked headline abuse?
The headlights are a little too derivative of Toyota’s Land Cruiser, much like a few other Chinese market 4×4’s I’ve seen.
Looks like a mish-mash of all the other SUVs out there. Not very original, but not really a copy of anything I guess. Also has a bit of Jeep in the front (with the gaudy chrome grille).
.
Interior also reminds me of a Santa Fe… but the Santa Fe looks like an Infiniti FX.. Hmm.
Wait a minute. Isn’t the JAC logo simply Chrysler’s “penta-star” set within a circle?! I don’t know, guys — I wouldn’t mess around with Cerberus.
I kinda expected more from JAC. I really like the designs they have for their cars. They’re both good and quite original. But this… eh.
Am I the only person who actually likes it?
Absolutely!
