More information, and pictures on the Lifan 320 have been leaked out onto the net! The Lifan 320, aka ‘The Chinese Mini’ as it has been christened by the Chinese media! Specifications have also been released

  • Can carry 5 adults
  • Top speed is 155kph
  • Euro 5 specification
  • 1.3l engine, 16v, 4 cylinder, front wheel drive
  • 4.89l of fuel, per 100km
  • 5 speed manual gearbox
  • Size: Length: 3745mm Width: 1620mm Height: 1430mm
  • Expected to go on the market in August 2008, priced at less than 50,000rmb

Ugh, what a monstrosity. Why Lifan felt they needed to copy the Mini when they had a perfectly fine Lifan 620 is completely beyond my comprehension.

I have no design skills. I have no manufacturing skills, however I think if I did try to make a Mini clone it would end up looking like this peice of junk. Totally crap. For the sake of the image of the Chinese motor industry stop calling this hunk of junk the Chinese Mini!

I have seen the inside of a pre-production version. Possibly the first actual car of this design. The interior looked to be of poor quality.

not surprised at all. the chinese talent for creating clones out of marques or not is reknown..

Luckily they are not too much into stem cell research and the lot ;)

It looks like they were in middle of trying to recreate the Daihatsu Sirion before switching to the Mini. Sad.

Yeah you’re right, a mix of Daihatsu and a Mini. This may strike a nerve at BMW hq, just a bit too close to the bone don’t you think? I have got nothing against Chinese cars, that is why I am here, but I don’t agree with this design theft that is all too common in the Chinese car industry.
